Description

The journal is focused on methods of teaching Russian as a foreign, non-native, and native language in Russian, closely related and unrelated linguistic environment.
The journal presents a platform for Russian and foreign scientists, reflects not only linguistic, but also cultural, historical, social aspects of learning and teaching Russian.
The journal aims at giving actual information on the position of the Russian language in the multipolar world.
The aim of the journal is to create a scientific, research, educational and information space for presenting the achievements of Russian and foreign scientists in Russian language studies and methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language.
The journal publishes materials on fundamental and applied scientific and methodical problems in philology - the study of the Russian language in Russia and in the world (linguistics, psycholinguistics, linguoculturology, text analysis, ethnolinguistics, methods and techniques of teaching, etc.).
The targets of the journal are:
Delivering the achievements of Russian and foreign scientists in Russian language studies and methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language, the results of scientific centres in developing and keeping Russian language in the multipolar world;
Presenting Russian national policy in Russian language and methods of its teaching;
Characterizing scientific articles on Russian language functioning in Russia and abroad;
Pointing out essential problems in methods of teaching Russian as a foreign, non-native, and native language;
Analyzing modern trends in school and university Russian language studies;
Reflecting problems of learning and teaching Russian as a foreign language and keeping Russian language in diasporas;
Assessing media-didactic and electronic means of teaching Russian.
The journal publishes scientific articles (theoretical, academic and research, methodical), review articles, book reviews, annotations, scientific reports about Russian and foreign scientists.
The journal has an international status proved by editorial board and reviewers including outstanding scientists from Russia, the United States, Belarus, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain.
Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), where students from 155 countries study, is an international center of learning Russian.
RUDN University holds Olympiads on the Russian language for foreign students.
The University prepares foreign teachers of the Russian language, organizes international students' exchange and scientific traineeships, fulfils inter-University contracts.
Learning and teaching Russian abroad is coordinated by International Association of Teachers of the Russian language and literature. Many world universities opened Russian language departments.
Russian language centers operate in Europe, the USA, Latin America, Asia, Africa. You can find information about their activities on the official site of the Fund "Russkiy mir" (https://russkiymir.ru/en/rucenter/).
The regular columns of the journal are actual problems of Russian and methods of teaching: linguistic research, methods of teaching; methodical projects; reviews, annotations, etc.; expedition: fieldwork – origin of Russian native speech.
The journal is aimed at scientists, aspirants, students, those who are interested in Russian Philology.
The journal "Russian Language Studies" is reviewed by Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation. The preference is given to articles written by doctoral postgraduates and doctors of science.
Starting investigators are published on the “Page of a young scientist”.
