Description

Journal of Health Policy and Management (JHPM) is an electronic, open-access, double-blind and peer-reviewed international multidisciplinary and integrative journal, focusing on health policy, health system, and healthcare management. It began its publication on October 21, 2015. The journal is published twice yearly. It aims to improve the design and implementation of health policies, health systems, and healthcare management, primarily in low- and middle-income countries. JHPM analyzes policy initiatives and healthcare systems and provides evidence-based research to guide policymaking and management decision-making.
JHPM publishes original research articles but also welcomes papers that describe theories and concepts, methodologies, policy formulation, organizational change, as well as social and environmental development, with emphasis on studies using multidisciplinary or integrative approaches. We accept quantitative or qualitative method approaches whichever appropriate. JHPM covers a broad range of topics from different fields, notably health policy, health management, health economics, epidemiology, social/ public policy, and philosophy.
JHPM provides a global forum with an intention to enhance communication between health policy and health care management researchers, policy makers, legislators, decision-makers, administrators, professionals, and academicians, concerned with developing, implementing, and analyzing health policy, health systems, and healthcare reforms. Special consideration is given to papers submitted from developing countries, as health policy and management issues impacting populations in the developing world are currently under-documented and underreported in the existing international peer-reviewed journals.
All of the papers published are freely available as downloadable pdf files. JHPM is currently abstracted and indexed in Crossref (with DOI for each article), CABI's Global Health, BASE, Google Scholar, OAIster (OCLC/ WorldCat), Indonesian Publication Index (IPI), ResearchGate, index Copernicus International (ICI), and Scientific Indexing Services (SIS). We are making efforts to get it indexed in even broader international databases.
