Diabetes is rampant disease in most of the world's nations. The term diabetes describes an increase level of glucose or sugar levels in blood. Diabetes is further classified as Diabetes mellitus and Diabetes insipidus. Diabetes mellitus involves blood sugar levels and further classified as Type I diabetes IDDM (Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus) and Type II diabetes NIDDM (Non Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus). Whereas, Diabetes insipidus is the result of problems associated with Anti Diuretic Hormone (ADH) and its receptors.
Both diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus cause polydipsia and polyuria. Polyphagia is addition to the above symptoms for diabetes mellitus. NIDDM is more common than IDDM. Type I diabetes mellitus treatment is a routine day task includes daily insulin injections and daily blood glucose testing. Exercise and strict diet regime plays a key role in controlling both Type I and II diabetes. In occasional cases, insulin injections might administer for type II diabetes mellitus.
