International Journal of Maternal and Child Health is an open access peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles which provide latest progress in all aspects of maternity and child health. The journal focuses on subjects such as physical and psychological health, early education, as well as their relevant policies and programs.
Specifically, it investigates:
1) women’s health (monitoring maternal morbidity, prematurity and pre-term birth, HIV and AIDS pandemic, environmental exposures related to reproductive and developmental outcomes, tobacco and alcohol use during pregnancy, prevention of unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and hyper- and under-nutrition among reproductive-aged women);
2) child health (access to care for vulnerable children, infant mortality, breast feeding and complementary feeding, infant and child growth and development, special health care needs, pervasive developmental disabilities, childhood hyper- and under-nutrition, child abuse and neglect, health policy and service systems affecting children, and injury prevention);
3) health disparities (assessment of race, ethnicity and socioeconomic status on the childhood well-being, monitoring and evaluation methods for population and health programs, child survival, displaced populations, HIV/AIDS orphans, impact of globalization, and human rights).
