Center for International Strategic Studies (CISS) (ISSN: 2310-4260)
IF(Impact Factor)2019 Evaluation Pending
DescriptionCenter for International Strategic Studies (CISS) was established on October 10, 2010, with the mission of “generating vigorous debates” on strategic and security issues. The CISS thus facilitates understanding of diverse and sometimes divergent views on matters related to national, regional and international security. It is hoped that CISS sponsored debates will help in removing misperceptions and contribute to promoting understanding in the region and the world.
In the two and half years since CISS was established, it has successfully organized a number of conferences, round table discussions and seminars in collaboration with world's leading think tanks. Prominent academic researchers, influential public policy scholars as well as practitioners of strategy and diplomacy have participated in these conferences and discussions.
It was, however, felt within the CISS as well as by some of its supporters that organizing of conferences and discussions should be supplemented by publications of well-researched articles on important issues. CISS is not only young in age, it is also very small in terms of its human resource pool, particularly research staff. Despite these limitations, CISS has begun a bimonthly publication containing articles on strategic and security issues besides covering Pakistan's relations with other states in the region and major world powers. This first issue of CISS Insight is modest as it only contains articles of researchers on CISS staff. The next issue will hopefully have more articles. Academics and independent researchers will also be requested to write articles in future issues.
