Description

The "Atherothrombosis Journal (Aterotromboz)" was founded in 2008 by the National Atherosclerosis Society with the support of the All-Russia Society of Cardiologists (ARSC), the Russian Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery and the National Stroke Association (NSA). The key purpose of the new journal was to update physicians on the latest studies related to atherothrombotic processes, inform about measures to control such processes. It also aimed to highlight educational activities among practitioners and specialists in the specific fields. Since the moment of its foundation, Prof. N.A. Gratsiansky is the chief editor, and his deputy editors are Prof. E.P. Panchenko and Prof. I.S. Yavelov. In 2009, the journal was published twice a year, and in 2008, 2010 and 2012 - once a year. Initially, the journal included the following sections: original articles, helping the practitioner, echo of athero-schools. Since 2013, the journal is published by Remedium Group on a regular basis - twice per year. The new sections appeared: venous thrombosis and thromboembolism, acute coronary syndrome, control of antithrombotic therapy, clinical case, and more. In addition to original and review articles, new forms of presentation appeared, e.g. slides with comments which made the journal more informative for a wider audience of physicians. Since December 2015, the journal is included in the "List of peer-reviewed scientific journals where results of Doctoral and Candidate of Sciences dissertations should be published."
