PesquisAtor is a specialized periodical about the creation and training of actors which publishes scientific papers from postgraduate students, teachers and artists-educators with proven performance in the field of Performing Arts. It is the first and only national publication with a specific focus on the actor's work, and aims to gather and disseminate scholarly research and artistic activities that contribute to the development of the area.
The journal is biannual and publishes original unpublished work of national and international authors written in either Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, or Italian.
The articles are distributed and published in the areas of: research sections (articles), experience reports, studies, reviews, translations, interviews, and theatre research.
The magazine is published by the Centro de Pesquisa em Experimentação Cênica do Ator, or Cepeca, a research group of the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo, coordinated by pProf. Dr. Sergio Armando da Silva and Prof. Dr. Eduardo Coutinho Tessari. Cepeca brings together teachers, masters and doctoral students of the Graduate Program in Performing Arts to develop research in the area of training of theater artist, with emphasis on the creative processes of the actor and his training methods.
