St. Tikhon's University Review. Series V: Problems of History and Theory of Christian Art is a scientific periodical published by two faculties of the university, the Faculty of Church Singing and the Faculty of Church Art.
The journal has been published since 2007. Initially, the journal was published by the Faculty of Church Singing alone and had a different title, St. Tikhon's University Review. Series V: Musical Art of the Christian World. Its five issues came out in the period from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, the Faculty of Church Art joined publishing the journal.
ccordingly, the subject range of the journal was broadened, and it was given its current title. The journal publishes papers on Church music and its singing traditions, on Russian and foreign spiritual music and its performance practices, as well as papers on architecture, icon-painting, mosaics and frescos, and other forms of applied art. The journal aims to promote the liaison between specialised academic spheres within the above-mentioned subject ranged, and demonstrates their shared semantics, common to Christian Art.
Since 2012, the journal has been included in the list of peer-reviewed scientific periodicals of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation.
