Description

The study of mathematics and use of mathematical models are increasingly recognized as important tools to solve real world problems. Mathematical models, ranging from purely deterministic to scholastic have provided to be successful ways to address many societal needs. Furthermore, Applied Mathematics and Statistics are integral part of most branches engineering where sophisticated mathematical tools are used to analyze data and solve practical problems.
Applied Mathematics uses both theory and techniques such as mathematical modeling to formulate practical engineering problems, help design new programming algorithm, solve problems in the arenas of transportation, business, social science, and many others. The application of Statistics is mainly concerned with the reduction of large amounts of observed data to ascertain a clear trend. Rapid developments of Information Technology in our lives depend heavily on these two domains. These two domains are continuously contributing to the accuracy and effectiveness in various Information Technology fields, such as meteorology, medical imaging, etc.
For example, the methods that provide us accurate weather forecasting would not be possible without mathematical and statistical models. Thus the weather stations throughout the world are able to give us highly accurate predictions for specific areas through the selection of gathering points and data analysis, which work together to produce an overall picture for larger areas.
Applied Mathematics and Statistics have much to offer to researchers and society in general. For this to happen, all engineers, educators and scholars must connect, share their discoveries and their interpretation of these discoveries, revise and improve existing theories and models. The publication of The Journal of Applied Mathematics and Statistics will further this interdisciplinary collaboration and further study of critical mathematical models.
The Journal of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (JAMS) is a peer-reviewed International Journal that publishes high quality of articles in all areas of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and other associated mathematical sciences. JAMS invites and encourages authors to share their experiencedise by submitting their original research articles, improved existing methods, or revised theory for publication.
