Description

Challenge Journal of Structural Mechanics is an international, quarterly published and open access journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles, case studies, discussions and letters to the editor in all areas of structural mechanics and materials.
Primary aim of CJSMec is to encourage academic challenges in structural mechanics and materials disciplines to seek for the global truth. Therefore, the Journal intends to publish at least a review or discussion at each issue. A double blind peer-review policy is followed in order to increase the scientific quality of the published papers. CJSMec publishes review articles, case studies, short communications and discussions, book reviews, challenge to previous published papers, and a diary on international events related to any aspect of structural engineering.
Contributions may range from new methods to novel applications of existing methods to gain understanding of the material and/or structural (system) behavior of new and advanced material systems. The scope of CJSMec encompasses, but is not restricted to the following areas. Papers making a fundamental contribution focused at the following topics are welcome:
?Design of civil, building and mechanical structures
?Analytical and computational modelling methods (computer-aided engineering)
?Structural optimization and computation
?Structural reliability and stability
?Earthquake engineering
?Seismic hazard studies
?Earthquake scenarios
?Behavior and application of advanced materials
?Processing and manufacturing of new structural materials
?Computational mechanics
?Rigid-body mechanics
?Dynamic impact mechanics
?Fracture mechanics
?Effects of wind and wave loadings on structures
?Effects of fire and blast on structures
?Bridges and special structures
?Concrete, masonry, steel and composite structures
?Damage and failure mechanisms in materials and structures
?Structure-fluid-soil interaction
?Structural strengthening methods
