Amaltea edizioni was first published in 1997 and ever since it has
affirmed itself in the panorama of the publishing houses of Salento
for a catalogue full of local titles through the publication
reflective essays, especially in the sociological and the pedagogical
fields, tied up to the induced changes in the local contexts by the
innovations of a globalized society. By insisting on "griko"
etno-linguistic areas of study, the publishing house Amaltea can
boasts a line of publications concerning the "griko-salentino"
dialect. It has collaborated and it collaborates with public corporate
bodies, supplying advising and services of planning in the circle of
the promotion and development of socio-educational and cultural
interventions, spreading and approaching people to use of
new media for citizens'active participation. The journal deals
extensively with philosophy, the arts, and linguistics as well as
questions of cultural identity in the various articles, reviews, and
original works it features.
