Founded in October 2005, la Revue de Téharan is currently the only
Iranian magazine in French. The journal enjoys a wide distribution in
Iran and also has many subscribers in France and in
several Francophone countries. Its direction is under the aegis of the
Foundation Ettelaat, which, since its inception in 1934, has
published, in addition to its newspaper by the same name, many
scientific publications, cultural, or devoted to the humanities. It is
aimed at both the French public and French-speaking Iranians, and aims
to promote and deepen understanding concerning
certain historical, philosophical, or social aspects of Iranian
culture. La Revue also serves as a forum of discussion of the
literature and of the major socio-political debates current Iranian
and
French. The purpose of this review is not only to raise awareness of
the many riches of Iran and participate, even modestly, "Dialogue of
Civilizations", but also contribute to the promotion of the
French language in Iran and in all countries which distribute our
magazine. It aims to encourage more comparative research on topics
common to both cultures, and to open new fields of study
and cooperation between Iran and France.
