The magazine is focused on publishing the results of recent theoretical and applied research in various fields of social sciences (economics and management, sociology, social demography, etc.). Policy is determined by the magazine editorial board, composed of authoritative scientists not only from Russia but also from Belarus, China, Finland and France.Problems of the magazine - an objective analysis and forecast changes in economic and social spheres of various countries and regions, local areas. Among the main topics - the strategy of territorial development, regional and sectoral economics, social development, creation of budget revenues and rationalize expenditures, innovation economy, questions of economic theory.
A major focus of the magazine is to cover topical problems in the use of resources in the North, development of its territory, which has the largest reserves of energy raw materials and ores and forest resources. The journal publishes articles on ways to improve comfort of living in the north, the development of this transport and other communications. We also consider the conservation of cultural and historical heritage, the development of educational and adventure (extreme) tourism.
Oriented publications in the discussion of problems of development in the northern territories of Russia defines one of the main objectives of the magazine - help scientists Northwest region of Russia to present their research results the wider scientific community worldwide. The magazine also provides an opportunity for young scientists to publish dissertations.
