The journal focuses on Internet technology, digital mechanisms, Web-based applications and services, Internet-based communications and systems, mobile and multicast protocols, IPv4-IPv6 transition and challenges as well as specific Internet-sensors networking.

Special issues may deal with H323/SIP convergence, reliability and robustness, advanced communications theory, mobile devices, Government Internet-based services, P2P applications, online collaborative systems and communications, Internet-based entertainment systems, Internet and web-based applications and systems, high speed and ad hoc networks, security and multimedia, and space communications.
