The journal Ciencia Política is a tool for communication with society and, in particular, with the scientific and academic community and policy of the Department of Political Science at the National University of Colombia. It is a biannual publication which began publication in 2006 and aims to catalyze debate in the field of Colombian political science, with a global perspective, outside the cloistered discipline and development effort to create a more informed, critical, and active citizenry.
The goal of Ciencia Política is to publish original research articles, reviews, and reflections on issues of political theory, political analysis, governance and public policy and international relations. To do this, the magazine is structured around three sections: "Tema Central", which develops a previously- selected topic at length; "Otras investigaciones", which includes texts of different themes and orientations and "Recensiones", dedicated to the reviewing of recent publications.
