The Saudi Journal of Medicine & Medical Sciences (SJMMS) is the official scientific Journal of the University of Dammam. It is an international peer reviewed general medical Journal that publishes original research involving humans. The scope of the journal is to publish research which will be of interest to health specialties both in academic and clinical practice.
The Journal aim at disseminating high-powered research results with the objective of turning research into knowledge. It seeks to promote scholarly publishing in medicine and medical sciences. Our vision is to be the first preference for authors and readers in the region and globally. The Journal is published in print and online.
The journal is sponsored by the University of Dammam and published by a renowned international publishing house; Wolters Kluwer & Medknow. The Journal is published by the University of Dammam as an independent complementary body to the Vice-Presidency of Higher Studies and Scientific Research. An independent high-powered scientific journal is considered by the University of Dammam an important component of it strategic plan of academic excellence.
The target readers of the Journal include all medical and health professionals in the colleges of the health cluster; namely, Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Applied Medical Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology and School of Public Health are target readers besides all medical and health professionals in the region and globally.
Scope of the journal
The scope of the journal is to publish research which will be of interest to health specialties both in academic and clinical practice. The Journal also aims at facilitating the development of high-powered research, education, and health services. Original papers, short communications, and letters to the editor are all welcomed. Case reports with substantial significance can also be considered for publication. Most of the content of SJMMS is submitted at the authors’ initiative, but most editorials, as well as special series and reviews, are solicited by the Editors. Exceptional unsolicited reviews may also be considered.
