The first issue of The Journal of folklore/literature was established by Metin Turan and published in Ankara in 1994. As of 2008, the journal's copyright was purchased by Cyprus International University and during the same period, the journal continued to be published and distributed regularly to the scientific community as an academic publication of the University.
