Boletín de la Academia Peruana de la Lengua is the official bulletin
of the Peruvian Academy of Language which serves in part to highlight
the crucial role that languages play in contemporary
Peru as cultural heirlooms, historical strands, and sources of
national pride and difference. Each issue of the bulletin is divided
into five distinct parts. First, the bulletin features articles
written on
philology, linguistics, and Latin American literature particularly as
they relate to bilingual education, Peruvian Spanish, the aboriginal
Andean languages, and the history of Peru itself. Second,
general notes from the editors and prominent contributors treating
general themes such as the utility of translation or even the lives of
some of Peru's greatest writers and poets. The third
section consists of a few articles written on Andean onomastics. The
fourth section reviews the quotidian affairs of the Academia Peruana
de la Lengua while the fifth consists entirely of reviews
of other publications embracing a similar focus and scope.
