Historijski zbornik ("Historical Anthology") is the joint publication of the Society of Croatian Historians, the former Croatian Historical Society, and the Association of Croatian Historical Societies. It is the oldest professional historiographical publication in the Republic of Croatia, which has operated continuously since 1947.
Historijski zbornik has published continuously since 1948 when the first volume was published. Up to present day, more than fifty volumes of the journal have been published in more than twenty thousand pages. Ten times out two years later: the first time as the biennium 11-12 (1958-1959), the last time as the 56-57 biennium (2003-2004). All other such cases have been reported between the 1966th and 1981. when the magazine published continuously in the biennial. The initial plan was to publish four issues per year, but the actual rate of publication fell somewhat closer to only one. In 1952, the fifth year of publication, came the two volumes as a double issue 1-2 and 3-4. Since 2008, the journal has published two issues per year. So far, the contributions in the journal include a range of 450 authors, including more than 350 from the Croatian, forty from other republics of the former Yugoslavia, and fifty from abroad. There is a wide range of international contributors - from the Soviet Union, to countries of the region such as Hungary and Austria, to the United States.
"Historical Anthology" has long been inextricably linked to Jaroslav Sidak, who edited the 27 volumes of the journal in succession from 1948 to 1984. The only exception occurred when Volume 29-30 (1976-1977), dedicated to honoring Sidak is subtitled "Šidakov Anthology," edited by Mirjana Gross. Sidak is the site editor who succeeded John Kampus, a longtime member of the editorial board and the secretary. Kampus has edited 13 volumes, from 1985 to 1997. He was the editor of Prlender replaced Ivica, who was editor until 2008. year. Since then, Kampus has headed the editorial board Damir Agičić.
