From the beginning, Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Sociologica has sought to be an ambitious journal commenting on the changes which Polish and European society undergo. Among the articles are presentations and research reports, analysis, and socio-political, analytical and methodological texts.
Among the journal's issues are also books published in English, Polish, Russian, and German.
Folia Sociologica covers the wider social issues. The intention of the editors is to publish original articles resulting from empirical studies of individual and team researchers. We are open to different theoretical and methodological paradigms. The editors seek texts referring to classical and contemporary sociological, relating to all of its subdisciplines. The journal also publishes studies on issues of combining sociology with other disciplines such as anthropology, ethnography, political science, social psychology, psychosociology, demography, and the study of management.
