Policy on open access to journal articles
Along with the other Research Councils and Research Councils , the IJMEDU believes that free and open access to publicly-funded research offers significant social and economic benefits. As major bodies charged with investing public money in research, the Research Councils take very seriously their responsibilities in making the outputs from this research publicly available ? not just to other researchers, but also to potential users in business, charitable and public sectors, and to the general public.
Policy on plagiarism
For our purposes, IJMEDU defines plagiarism as the misappropriation and/or misattribution of ideas and the expression of those ideas, in part or in whole, whether through words, sound, visual displays including photographs, and whether those ideas or expression thereof is taken from published or unpublished abstracts, grants or grant applications, lectures, presentations, Institutional Review Board applications, manuscripts, and articles or excerpts from books or any other published materials or intellectual property.
The editors of IJMEDU appreciate the controversy within the academic community with regard to paraphrasing and the use of nearly identical phrases to explain common methodologies or historical/scientific facts. We, therefore, urge our authors to err on the side of caution and provide citations whenever possible to avoid even the appearance of impropriety and to maintain the highest standard of ethics.
A Manuscript will been peer reviewed and comments along with originality report have been forwarded to you for correction. The originality report emphasizes the originality of your manuscript which depicts” SIMILARITY INDEX PERCENTAGE”. The percentage shows the manuscript similarity with other sources. The higher the Similarity index percentage the more are the chances of your manuscript rejection. The sentences numbered as I , 2, 3… shows resemblance/similarity of your text /paragraph with other sources. The sources can be identified in the primary sources report (mentioned below the similarity index %) as web addresses from where the text/paragraph is extracted and written as such in your manuscript.
For Research papers / Research Articles 1) Similarity index (SI) ensures that the manuscript is your own original research work and provided proper citation/reference wherever others concept / figure / table / chart is used. 2) As per the journal standards total similarity index level should not exceed the limit of 35%. 3) Permissible range of SI for the primary source Number 1 is up to 15%. Beyond this range the manuscript will be accepted only if the primary source no 1 is your own personal work. If not then the text highlighted as no 1 in your manuscript has to be reframed/rewrite by the author (you). (Kindly mention in your reply whether the highlighted text as number 1 is your own previously published work or not). 4) The total SI for sources Number 2, 3 and so on (i.e. 2+3+4+……….) should not exceed beyond 20% otherwise the author has to rewrite the sentences.
