?Odesa National University Herald. Philology? (?Visnik Odeskogo nacionalnogo universitetu. Filologiya?) is publishing on the Philological faculty of the Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University and contains the articles of provident scientists. Series of scientific journal include two issues: one presents the results of researches in area of linguistics, other in literary criticisms. Authors investigate the most essential problems of modern branches of philology: lingvokulturologia, psycholinguistics, applied linguistics, mythopoetics, comparativistics, imagologia etc. Among problems which are solving in the articles ? epistymic and cognitive functions of language; defining and delimitation of concepts “author’s world”, “artistic picture of world” and “artistic world”; myth as a component of thinking and also as a form of organization of the artistic material in literary work; the connection between types of literature and types of artistic-literary conscience (namely, religious-rhetorical, secular-rhetorical, aesthetic and post-aesthetic). Serious attention authors devote to science problems, which are classic in Philology also. Among these problems ? the problem of dialogue in literature and literature studies; spheres of poetry and literary interaction, intretextual connections, reception and interpretation of authors predecessors in literary works of modern authors etc.
Scientists of Odessa National University (among them quite a bit doctors of sciences whose discoveries occupy an important place in modern Philology: E. Chernoivanenko, N. Shlyakhovaya, T. Kovalevskaya, N. Malyutina, E. Voyceva, N. Kondratenko, V. Musiy) are in a permanent scientific contacts with the researchers from other institutes and with philological schools, which ware formed in Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, other Ukrainian science centers. As a result of these contacts - publication in the journal of articles written by scientists from the different cities of Ukraine and Europe (Hungary, Germany, Poland).
