Description

The International Journal of Innovation Management (IJIM) is the official journal of the International Society of Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM). Both the IJIM and ISPIM adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing the many challenges of managing innovation, rather than a narrow focus on a single aspect such as technology, R&D or new product development. Both are also international, inclusive & practical, and encourage active interaction between academics, managers and consultants. These guiding principles of the IJIM are consistent with those of ISPIM:
Aim to link the research and practice of innovation management;
Focus on the management and firm levels of analysis, rather than policy or sector issues;
Adopt an inter-disciplinary, multi-functional problem-oriented approach;
Integrates management of technological, organizational and market innovation.
IJIM is an open, peer-reviewed research-based journal, and the formal statement of intent since its inception in 1997 is:
"The International Journal of Innovation Management (IJIM) is the official journal of the International Society of Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM). Both the IJIM and ISPIM adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing the many challenges of managing innovation, rather than a narrow focus on a single aspect such as technology, R&D or new product development. Case studies which provide new conceptual or theoretical insights are also invited. IJIM aims to provide a forum for the insights of academics, practising managers and consultants, and to integrate the theory and practice of innovation management."
