Description

ABSTRACT
This research developed a condition-based maintenance (CBM) module for rolling stock air supply compressors, replacing scheduled overhauls. The study used Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to identify failure modes and assess their criticality, allowing for optimized maintenance intervals. Results showed that FMECA could extend overhaul intervals from 8 to 12 years without compromising safety or operations, and could control defect-related risks by 55% for 35 compressors. This approach is projected to save 5 million baht over 40 years. The findings are being proposed for implementation in maintenance depots and disseminated for broader application within the company.
