The Revista Multidisciplinar do Planalto Central (REME), a publication of the Instituto Superior Politécnico do Humanidades e Tecnologia Ekuikui II, is publishing its second issue, dedicated to the theme “Education in Angola: Challenges and Strategies for Quality Teaching”. In this issue we invite all readers to reflect deeply and critically on the development of education in Angola, whose history has a significant impact on the current reality. The construction of an equitable and prosperous society depends on the formation of citizens who are aware, critical and prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century. Although the Angolan education system has made remarkable progress in recent decades, with an increase in the number of places available and an expansion of the school network, we still face persistent challenges that deserve attention in order to improve the quality of teaching and hinder access to excellent education. This issue aims to analyze some of the main challenges facing education in Angola, as well as presenting strategies for improving the quality of teaching.
