ASRI. Art and Society. Journal of Research in Digital Arts and Humanity, is a scientific publication PEER REVIEWED coordinated by the research group on Visual Culture and Artistic Practices of the Rey Juan Carlos University. The main objective is to offer an exchange tool for research and dissemination of the multiple forms of expression and representation of the material and virtual world we inhabit. A platform for critical thinking that is aimed at researchers and artists in art, cultural and visual studies, digital humanities, doctoral and master's students and enthusiasts of hypermedia culture, internet and communication technologies, information and visual representation. To make the discussion and debate of ideas broader, 4 lines of thought have been created: Poetics of the Image/Visual Studies (Green Collection) Audiovisual Narratives/Cinema (Blue Collection) Architecture/ Design (Orange Collection) Digital Humanities (Purple Collection).
Objectives / Aims
The Magazine Art and Society. Journal of Research in Digital Arts and Humanities (ASRI) is established as a platform dedicated to the exploration of culture and the arts in their relationship with society and the economy. A space to publicize recent research by experts and professionals in the field.
Thematic areas
ASRI addresses questions about the multiple social factors that intervene in the art world: the cultural value of images in the network society; the role of the artist as a social and cultural activator; the social situation of the artist in relation to patronage, the market, collecting, the role of art galleries, foundations and other institutions that promote and support artistic activity. the role of technologies as mediators and builders of new artistic languages. In short, ASRI seeks to reveal the circumstances and changes that socially surround the artistic act and that are currently presented to us as new challenges, and in need of new approaches and adaptations.
