The Asia-Pacific Journal of Cooperative Education was established in 1999, with the first publication run occurring in 2000. The Journal arose from a desire to produce an international forum for discussion of cooperative education issues for practitioners and researchers in the Asia-Pacific region. Since establishment, the Journal has gained an international focus with publications from regions such as the UK, Germany, USA, South Africa, Taiwan, Ghana, and Bangladesh. The Journal is supported by the New Zealand Association for Cooperative Education (NZACE) and the University of Waikato, and maintains close links with the World Association for Cooperative Education (WACE).
