Description

The South African Journal of Chemistry, published by the South African Chemical Institute, has been publishing high quality papers, in all fields of Chemistry for over 50 years. The Journal went fully electronic in 2000 and is freely available through open access online (http://reference.sabinet.co.za/sa_epublication/che...).
SAJChem applies the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license to manuscripts we publish. This license was developed to facilitate open access namely, free immediate access to, and unrestricted reuse of, original works of all types. Under this license, authors agree to make articles legally available for reuse, without permission or fees, for virtually any purpose. Anyone may copy, distribute or reuse these articles, as long as the author and original source are properly cited. Additionally, the journal platform (http://www.journals.co.za/sajchem/ ) that SAJChem uses to publish research articles is Open Access.
It is a CAS-abstracted publication and is listed in Current Web Contents. It has retained its status as an accredited publication with the South African Department of Higher Education and Training.
The journal publishes short communication, full research papers and review articles in all branches of chemistry. In 2013 the journal published 46 articles comprising 289 journal pages. All manuscripts are subjected to a rigorous peer review process by the Scientific Editors listed below:
