Studies in the Linguistic Sciences: Illinois Working Papers is the
new format of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Department of Linguistics Working Papers, which has been published
since 1971. In 2008, the Linguistics department faculty and the
Linguistics Student Organization agreed on a new online, open-access
format for publication.
Studies in the Linguistic Sciences is intended as a forum for the
presentation of original research by the students and faculty of the
Department of Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign, as well as linguists from all disciplines at the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a collection of working papers,
SLS provides an outlet for online, open-access distribution
of pre-publication versions of articles.
